How to change your screen resolution in a Windows Operating System
There are two ways to change your computers screen resolution. One way is on your Desktop and the other way is through your Control Panel.
To change your screen resolution on your desktop:
- Move the mouse to where it is not over any icons or menus on the Desktop.
- Right Click.
- Select Properties, a Display Properties screen should open.
- Click the menu item Settings.
- Change the screen resolution bar( the bar on the bottom left of the window that is in a box) until it reads 1024 by 768 pixels.
- Click OK. Warning: The screen will go black, adjust it's settings and prompt you as to whether or not you want to accept the changes, click OK.
- Your screen resolution is now changed. To redo your old screen resolution, just follow these steps until step 5. When at step 5, change the resolution to 800 by 600 pixels, or whatever resolution you may prefer.
To change your screen resolution through Control Panel:
- Click Start.
- Select Control Panel.
- Click the Display Icon.
- The same menu, Display Properties, will appear that appears in the previous steps to change resolution.
- Click the menu item Settings.
- Change the screen resolution bar(the bar on bottom left of the window that is in a box) until it reads 1024 by 768 pixels.
- Click OK. Warning: The screen will go black, adjust it's settings and prompt you as to whether or not you want to accept the changes, click OK.
- Your screen resolution is now changed. To redo your old screen resolution, just follow these steps until step 6. When at step 6, change the resolution to 800 by 600 pixels, or whatever resolution you may prefer.
